Manuscript Wishlist

We at Fox & Dagger are drawn to the darker side of things, but the heart has to be there.

We aim to cast a wide net of fiction and will consider themes beyond the following ideas. While your piece does not have to hit ALL of these marks, we are particularly intrigued by…

• Horror with heart, Vengeance, “Good for her” horror/psychological thriller

• Unusual (BUT LEGAL) romantic relationships (we are k*nk friendly)

• Gothic, spooky, “Mysterious Things Keep Happening”

• Ghosts, grief, and revenge, with backstories and emotional development that draw in your reader (Think Rebecca or Jane Eyre pushed a little further)

• Nature fights back

• Dark & Paranormal romance (with or without spice) & questionable couples (maybe a pair of lovers with macabre interests or employment. Think fictional Ed & Lorraine Warren from The Conjuring Universe or Audrey Rose & Thomas Cresswell from the Stalking Jack the Ripper series)

• Trauma-based horror, Childhood memories/nostalgia gone wrong, Main character overcomes or survives something, with or without a happy ending

• Historical fiction - a new spin/fictional retelling of a classic history lesson, a closer look at a historic event’s effects on marginalized groups
